Southern California Birth Photographer Heather J. Potter to Team up with The Yellow Ribbon Birth Project Nationwide Organization
I was contacted by Jenna Bush, Founder of The Yellow Ribbon Birth Project this week. She runs a non-profit nationwide organization which provides expecting active duty military spouses who have deployed spouses at the time of the birth of their child, or who have made the ultimate sacrifice, with support and encouragement both during and after labor and delivery. Their mission is fulfilled through the donated services from birth and postpartum doulas, birth photographers, and lactation educators and/or consultants.
As most of you are aware, I am a avid supporter of our military as I spent most of my adult life being a Marine Corps spouse. Giving back to the one community that supported me since the tender age of 18 has always been a true blessing. I was asked if I would donate my birth photography services to those in need, my response ... I WOULD BE HONORED to provide Birth Photography to our military families.
If you are interested in learning more about the opportunities being put together by The Yellow Ribbon Birth Project Organization, please check out their website. There are specific forms you will need to submit in order to be put on the list and to have birth professionals matched up with your particular location and situation.
Please be sure to let Jenna and the other staff at The Yellow Ribbon Birth Project know that Heather Potter of Heather J. Potter Photography referred you. If you are within Southern California, I will most likely be a part of your birthing team as I will be offering Birth Photography as I am available.
Please be sure to pass this blog and information onto those Military Families you know of all around the US, you never know who might want a little extra support during their birthing process.
Have a blessed day,
Heather J. Potter
